Our Story
HungaryWines was born from a simple observation: despite producing some of the world's most remarkable wines, Hungary remains overlooked by the international wine community. While neighboring countries like Austria, Slovenia, and Croatia have seen their wine industries boom, Hungarian wines often get lost in the conversation.
We set out to change that. Our editorial team consists of wine enthusiasts, travel writers, and local experts who have spent years exploring Hungary's 22 wine regions on foot, by car, and occasionally by bicycle. We've tasted our way through hundreds of cellars, spoken with dozens of winemakers, and compiled our knowledge into practical, honest guides that help visitors make the most of their Hungarian wine experience.
